What is Sade Sati?
ఏలినాటి శని అంటే ఏమిటి?
Sade Sati is the stretch of about seven and a half years during which Saturn transits three signs in succession: the one before your natal Moon, the Moon's own sign, and the one after. Saturn takes roughly two and a half years over each, and the period is counted from the Moon rather than the lagna.
జన్మ చంద్రుడికి ముందు రాశి, చంద్ర రాశి, తర్వాతి రాశి — ఈ మూడు రాశులలో శని వరుసగా సంచరించే సుమారు ఏడున్నర సంవత్సరాల కాలమే ఏలినాటి శని. ప్రతి రాశిలో శని సుమారు రెండున్నర సంవత్సరాలు ఉంటాడు. ఇది లగ్నం నుండి కాక చంద్రుడి నుండి లెక్కిస్తారు.
The three phases
The first phase, with Saturn in the twelfth from the Moon, is classically associated with expenditure, disturbed sleep and departures. The second, Saturn over the Moon itself, presses hardest on the mind and on health. The third, Saturn in the second from the Moon, is read for family and finances. The three are not equally difficult, and which one bites depends on the chart.

Why it is not automatically bad
Saturn's effect depends on what it rules in that particular chart. For some lagnas Saturn is a functional benefic, and its transit can bring the discipline that finally produces results. Well-placed and strong, Saturn during Sade Sati has given people their steadiest working years. The reputation comes from the phase over the Moon, which is genuinely demanding, not from the whole period.

How often it comes
Saturn takes about 29 to 30 years to go round the zodiac, so Sade Sati returns roughly every 30 years. Most people meet it two or three times in a life, and the same period is experienced very differently at 25 and at 55.
